My new favourite band…
Thursday, June 28th, 2007So, I’m obviously in mood to write. I just finished writing an 18 page final exam for a spring course, General Studies 500 (I’m heading off on a tangent, I apologize). Anyways, AFI are my new favourite band. Holy Crap. I had no idea there were so good. When I was in The Browns we opened for them (circa 1999) and I didn’t really think much of them, they were good but not something I needed to buy or become intimate with. That all changed when Doug W. loaded up external drive with a poop-load of new punk/hardcore music. I was surprised to see AFI in there and Doug gingerly admitted that he did in fact like them. So I thought, “Well, if Doug likes them, they must be ok… I trust Doug’s opinion” (except on Cradle of Filth — can’t let that one go!) Wow! It’s the voice and melody that make the band, the music is very catchy but the voice makes it kick proverbial ass! Thanks Doug, AFI is rocking my world, a whole bunch of songs are approaching the 30 playcount in iTunes in just a couple of weeks — I’m playing the crap out of this stuff, no end in sight either (I’m listening to it right now!)
